July was brought a little more rain than anticipated, but that didn’t stop us here at FCDC! Here’s what we have been up to recently…
Parent/Carer Embroidery evening 🧵
We kicked off July with a embroidery evening for our parents/carers. Self taught Deaf artist, Rebecca Vaughan lead a lovely workshop with information on the history of embroidery, design, stitching and creating our own masterpieces. Rebecca demonstrated as we followed along drawing our designs then choosing different coloured threats/stitches to finish them off.
Elmfield Celebration day
KS3/4 Games night
We then met up with our ks3/4 group for an evening of board games at the Chance & Counters Café. There were 500+ games to choose from so the young people were spoilt for choice. We ended up with some great picks including Herd mentality, Dobble, and of course UNO. Everyone had their fair share of winning, apart from Myself and Helen who tried hard to keep up. We finished the evening with some delicious burgers and loaded fries!
Morning at the farm
It was then time for a visit to Lawrence Weston Community farm, where we had ice creams and catch ups. The children walked around the field picking flowers, we finished off our mornings with a few games of tag and hide and seek.
