Constitution
The Family Centre (Deaf Children) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. (Charity registration number: 1196287)
The charity’s objects are:
“The promotion of social inclusion and the provision of education among deaf children and their families in Bristol and the surrounding area, who may be excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of being deaf (where deaf is defined as mild to profound hearing loss) by:
1. Providing workshops, forums and general advice for deaf families
2. Providing social support, recreational facilities and opportunities for deaf families
3. Providing, or supporting access to the provision of, services supporting deaf families, by working with other relevant agencies.”

Safeguarding Children, Young People and Adults
The Family Centre is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. The welfare of children is paramount and we take their safety and wellbeing very seriously.
Our policies are updated every year and all our staff, volunteers, trustees, tutors and sessional workers are trained in safeguarding and familiar with these policies. Our Digital Safeguarding Policy includes information about the use of mobile phones, cameras and tablets at our activities and events.
We encourage all our members to familiarise themselves with these policies and to speak to us if they have any concerns.
