April in review

April has been and gone in a flash.  Friday 1st April our KS3/4 plus members joined us at Elmfield School for an evening of board games and Dominoes Pizza.  It was as lovely, relaxed evening, with lots of chatting and laughing.  They are a great group of kids and have bonded nicely.

During the Easter holidays we held an Easter Egg hunt in the grounds of Elmfield School.  We were so lucky with the weather, enabling us to use the outside space.  Over 70 were booked onto the event with 45 approximately attending.  We had a game of Easter bingo in the hall before ushering everyone outside, where they were greeted by the Easter Bunny.

The children were tasked with finding different coloured eggs and placing them in the bunny’s basket.  We had a couple of hunts and free time outside and then enjoyed some refreshments.  All the children went home with a chocolate egg, kindly donated by Asda, Morrisons and Tesco.

Later in the holidays, we welcomed back The Flying Seagull Project for a morning of fun and laughter.  The Flying Seagull Project are a charity that visit schools, hospitals, refugee camps to bring joy and laughter to it’s audience, young and old.  They didn’t disappoint.  It was so refreshing to see the children engaged in the performance, laughing.  Once the performance was over, the circus allowed the children to have a go at spinning plates, diablo, and hula hoop.  Such fun.  We look forward to their return in the not to distance future.
