We rely on the incredible generosity of our volunteers to help run activities.
Experience of working with deaf children and knowledge of BSL is an advantage, but not essential.

Hi I am currently learning BSL level 1 at Weston College and would love the opportunity to volunteer with yourselves.

Due to all the other students living in Weston, I struggle to get any additional practice in by myself and was hoping I could be of assistance to you also.

If this is of any interest I would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your enquiry. We appreciate all our volunteers and it would be great if you would like to join us. We do a variety of events, from activities for all ages of children to parent support. Many of our children are oral with implants and hearing aids, though often we try to include BSL for all children. We run BSL courses here for families to support communication and encourage some learning for the children also. We often have deaf adults speakers here for coffee mornings and an interpreter is present at each coffee morning to help with some of our deaf parents and grandparents.
Please find an volunteer form here, for completion and return. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Look forward to hearing from you! https://fcdc.org.uk/volunteer/
