Counselling
A free service for deaf parents, parents and carers of d/Deaf children and young adults impacted by hearing loss
When funding is available, we offer a free counselling service for deaf parents, parents/carers of deaf children and young adults impacted by hearing loss/deafness who may feel the need for wellbeing support and understanding in any area of life.
With a generous grant from the Medlock Charitable Trust in 2024, we were able to provide our free counselling service over a 12-month period to a number of local people in need of this type of support. The positive feedback we’ve received from those who have accessed the service to date has been both moving and inspiring.
Unfortunately, as this funding ends in July 2025 and a grant application to another funder was unsuccessful in March 2025, we are unable to offer this free service to new clients at present.
However, because we continue to experience high demand for counselling support, we are actively seeking donations and new grant funding to be able to provide the counselling service again in the near future.
If you’d like to receive counselling service updates or be added to our client waiting list, please contact us.
Email: counselling@fcdc.org.uk or Helen Davies (Centre Manager).
We need your support
If you’d like to make a donation to help fund this service or want to sponsor someone impacted by deafness/hearing loss seeking counselling support, please contact: monique@fcdc.org.uk or make a donation online.
Each 50-minute counselling session cost £60 and we’ve found that a programme of 6-12 weeks of weekly one to one counselling sessions can be both highly beneficial and life changing for many people in need of this type of support.
