Santa Express

Join the Avon Valley Railway this Christmas for a ride on one of their steam trains and enjoy a special visit from Father Christmas!
Take a vintage carriage from Bitton Station and enjoy the hour long trip across the Avon Valley countryside. Santas helpers will distribute mince pies and festive biscuits to everyone on the way.
Then, Father Christmas himself appears and spends a short time with each family and asks that all important question; ‘Have you been good this year?’. He’ll then give each child a quality present designed especially for their age.
Once the train reaches Avon Riverside there will be the opportunity (weather permitting) for photographs with Father Christmas on the platform before you finally return to Bitton.
Trip Includes
An hour-long (six mile) trip in a heritage carriage behind a steam locomotives
A visit from Father Christmas as he greets each family at their seat
A quality present for each child designed for their age
A mince pie or festive biscuit for everyone
The railway shop will be open selling a range of railway-themed gifts and souvenirs including one of the largest displays of ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ products in the local area. The station Buffet will also be open serving hot drinks and light lunches.

It is essential that all of our events and activities are enjoyable, welcoming and inclusive to all and we rely on all of our families who attend to ensure this is the case. For all our family events parents will be expected to be responsible for their children at all times to ensure we have a respectful, safe and inclusive environment. If there are any concerns or anyone does not feel this is the case please approach either staff or trustees who will always be available at all events.
FOR NEW FAMILIES
If it is your first time attending an event or you don’t know anyone else attending, please let the organisers know and they will link you with another parent as part of our buddy system.
